Communication:
Talk to us
There’s a saying that we have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak. We want everyone to communicate with one another with respect, after all we are all working towards the same goal.
We are a safe and respectful school community and we expect parents and school visitors to be polite, to act as positive role models and to recognise and respect personal differences. If you have an issue with your child’s education ask for a meeting to discuss your concerns in the appropriate environment.
Remember we are working together to give your child the best education possible. Your child. Our student. One team.

Collaboration:
Two heads are better than one
It’s often said that two heads are better than one, and we couldn’t agree more. We are a safe and respectful school community and are keen to collaborate with parents to give our students the best possible education.
To do this we need your help. These simple things will go a long way to helping your child succeed:
make sure your child comes to school every day ready to learn
ensure they arrive and leave school safely on time and
read and encourage your child to understand and follow the Student Code of Conduct.
Remember we are working together for your child. Your child. Our student. One team.

School Culture:
Creating a positive school culture
At Gladstone South State School we pride ourselves on our positive school culture and with your help we can make it even stronger. You can do your part by speaking positively about the school and its staff. If there is an issue that needs addressing ask for a meeting to discuss your concerns and understand that there may be times when compromises are necessary.
No one benefits from negative comments or gossip about other school community members – including students – whether it’s in person, in writing or on social media.
Recognise that staff are responsible for supporting the whole school community and every student is important. Remember we are working together for your child. Your child. Our student. One team.
