Queensland Day

Queensland Day marks our state’s official separation, as an independent colony, from New South Wales on 6 June 1859.   It is an opportunity to celebrate our state’s culture, heritage, people, places and industry. It also allows each one of us to reflect on what it means to be a Queenslander. In addition to local community celebrations, key landmarks and buildings will be lit up on the day.   For more information and some great resources, see the Queensland Day website.
