Gladstone South State School encourages participation, enjoyment and skill development by offering programs that meet the needs of all students. In addition to our specialist HPE teacher conducting weekly lessons, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of sporting activities including:
Sporting development teams and coaches also visit the school regularly and work with students on skill development, motivation and teamwork. This has included rugby league, rugby union and touch football. Our students also participate in local combined sporting events such as the annual six-a-side competitions held for soccer and touch football.
Representative sport
Students are given the opportunity to attend the Port Curtis District trials in a range of sports. Selected students go on to the Capricornia Regional trials - which may lead to being chosen to represent at a state or national level.
